It's pretty outrageous that they nominate *beep* JONAH HILL and leave out Brooks.

I think Max Von Snydow is the odd man out in this category. All I've heard is how awful that movie is, his nomination was there to help them justify the Best Picture nomination...

Most of the pre-oscar award circles placed Brooks as a frontrunner. On Gold derby he had the 2nd highest probablity (after plummer i think). Personally, I thought he was astounding. A definate snub, shame on the oscars.


Oh well, Drive is too cool for recognition. Apart from of course, sound editing.

EVERYONE thought for sure that Brooks would get nominated. Ah, well. Drive was snubbed in general. Imo it should've been nominated for Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Director, Best Cinematography...

well there's no accounting for taste. von Sydow is one of the greatest actors alive today and his performance was more than worthy. If any performance was over-rated in this category I dare say it was Hill's...and Branaugh for that matter, who did little more than a good impression of another actor
