I love all Albert Brooks' Films but for me his crowning jewel is "Defending Your Life" .

I agree - Defending Your Life. Though everything from Real Life to Defending is some of the greatest comedy ever committed to film.

The first I saw was Modern Romance. It remains a favorite and never fails to make me laugh.

Yeah, that quartet of REAL LIFE, MODERN ROMANCE, LOST IN AMERICA and DEFENDING YOUR LIFE is just amazing. Four superlative comedies in a row.
