I am late .. I just noticed him when I saw the killer inside me then I fell in love w him In Gone baby gone and then again In the furnace . I had no idea he is Ben Affleck s brother and that's probably the reason why hes unknown and/or hated so much-hes being compared to Ben! I think he's way better than Ben Afflack . that's messed up how underrated he is.. no one knows of him.. really.. it only took three movies for me to become a big fan of Casey's and I've seen so many Ben's movies and haven't found one that's made me say" wow what a great actor." Truthfully I think he's whack.. I've never liked Ben's movies I love Casey's movies ..he may not be a handsome but he's an awesome actor I love his voice.. yal are crazy to hate on him so hard. to who ever said it sounded like he talked with marbles in his mouth: it does NOTsound like that nor look like that ..his voice is distinct & recognizable . I think iTs sexy ..HE IS a good actor I think he deserves a lot more credit and recognition

Nice to know that Triple 9 is great. I just saw two trailers and really look forward to it - the cast is fantastic. Another upcoming movie of his is The Finest Hours which I look forward to even more - I always like movies based on true stories.

I first saw Casey Affleck in Gone Baby Gone back in 2009 (how time flies!), a movie directed by his brother Ben. I really enjoyed it and later watched The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. I was so impressed by his performances in both movies that I soon became a big fan of his. I've since watched about 18 movies that he's been in and that's probably all I can find. I agree he's a (much) better actor than Ben and it's a shame that he hasn't been bigger than I thought he would be after the successes of Gone Baby Gone and The Assassination of Jesse James. I like Ben as well but more as a director than an actor. I just had a brief look at his profile here on IMDB and it seems he's been having a very busy year with altogether four projects coming out in 2016. So I'm really glad we'll see more of him both on the big screen and on TV next year. Hopefully he'll soon enjoy some success like he did in 2007 - it's really been a long time.

This is a direct quote from one of my other posts, repeated here because noone bothered to refute my comments.

First saw him in Lonesome Jim, and thought he did quite well. Then next i saw him in Gone Baby Gone, and was thoroughly dissappointed. He played that role in exactly the same way as LJ, without energy,in a manner that conveys complete indifference,no inner fire at all. I thought GBG was a good movie that could have been great with another actor. Then recently I saw him in Drowning Mona, which by the way was very funny in a dark way. His role there, also sort of suited him. But first and foremost I came to realize, Casey Affleck plays all his roles in the same energy-drained,slacker way, whether it's right for the part or not.

I think he is a far better actor than Ben and you are right, he is way underrated. He is in his brother's shadow and that isn't right. He was amazing in Gone Baby Gone and also in
The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford! He is solid in every role I've seen him. People complain about his voice, I think it makes him more interesting. I wish he would get more roles! He's an outstanding actor!
