I agree. I'm glad to see that Ms Young is working it seems a lot in independent film and also theatre with some more well known actors, such as Kurt Russell in Bone Tomahawk.
Quite frankly, I tend to love the stories and acting that independent cinema can bring, which is so different to mainstream Hollywood. I personally became aware of Ms Young through her film 'Forever' in 1994 because I'm a fan of Terence Knox and wanted to see his body of work. From there, I found 'Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me' which features Ms Young - it is one of my absolute favourite films and a cult classic. That film then led me to the amazing works of Adrienne Shelly (both in front and behind the camera. My point is, there is a lot of passion and talent behind independent cinema and it can be great and appreciated by fans.
From what I have read (and not to put words into her mouth), I think Ms Young likes to support independent films, just like she did with 'Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me' where she not only acted but helped with props and wardrobe. There is no shame in working to create great stories.
I'm glad Ms Young seems to be steadily working and it helps go from strength to strength in her professional life. No matter what personal issues she has had in her life, that should be her personal business. I'm interested in seeing the talent on screen, and it seems more directors and casting agents are finding that out and bringing Ms Young to their projects. Her recent films such as 'Send No Flowers' are amazing and I hope to see more in the future.
