shareAssuming you are still looking for this information,
I once saw a Shirley Maclaine interview where she was asked, among other things,to describe a list of actors she had worked with in one word and when they said, "Debra Winger", her reply was, "Difficult"
Here's a couple of things I found on the subject...
From a Time magazine interview-"In Hollywood the honey drippers are legion. As for the blue-eyed truth tellers -- those strange, spiky creatures who might be avoided and ought to be cherished -- they could all be called Debra Winger.
Truth teller is perhaps the kindest name that the industry would think to call the actress, whose strong will has often butted against Hollywood's tender backside. She was outspoken in her early plush years, when potent turns in Urban Cowboy, An Officer and a Gentleman and Terms of Endearment made her the movies' most promising -- and delivering -- young actress. She wore her wild streak in public: sex, drugs, locking horns with directors and co-stars. She turned down meaty roles in several popular films (including Broadcast News) and walked off another (A League of Their Own). Her star waned with brash parts in The Sheltering Sky and Everybody Wins. She made amber waves in Nebraska while trysting with Governor Bob Kerrey, before and after her two- year marriage to actor Timothy Hutton."
From AMCTV-"Her star-making performance in Urban Cowboy won her the part of Richard Gere's blue-collar love interest in An Officer and a Gentleman (1982). Her work in the film earned her an Oscar® nod, while her candid comments about co-star Richard Gere and her nude scene earned her the reputation of being "difficult." Whether this reputation was earned or a symptom of the old double standard (frank, opinionated men are admired for their forthrightness, while like women are disdained), Winger continued to work and earn kudos for her performances.
Here's to those who wish me well...
Debra also hated working with Lynda Carter and John Travolta.
Her divaness has caused me to nickname a rival actor in my highschool "Debra Winger".
A guy I know who worked on the set of Georgia Rule said that Lindsay Lohan's
behavior during the shooting reminded him of Debra's since his uncle worked on
the set of Terms & noticed it firsthand!!!
Perhaps that kind of attitude led to some directors blacklisting her & later
led to her Hollywood exile--even though she's earned an Emmy nod(Lifetime's
biopic Dawn Anna)since reemerging, anyone think a really great part in something
can put to rest the stigma of being diffcult????
i dont Know But I have Liked Her as actress.she has birthday Tommorow
shareSo even during her appearance on "Wonder Woman" in 1976, she had problems with her co-star? I would think she would have been grateful for the opportunity then.
