Bluray for his early films?

Anyone knows if his Dutch films will get blu ray release? I, for once, would like to see Spetters with better quality than current VHS sh!tty colors.

I think only his American movies are transferred to blu ray. Most of his earlier work is on dvd though.

How can one even compare between DVD and Bluray? Not releasing his films in HD formats is an insult to the fans, as I see it.
DVD had its time, now it should slowly die.

Yup, there is a huge difference. But also gotta look at the reality here, his earlier work(pre-hollywood) doesn't have a huge fanbase therefore it's unlikely they will be released anytime soon. For the OP the improvement from VHS to dvd is huge aswell.

No fan base? All of Verhoeven's fans are familiar with his Dutch films, and all of them consider at least two of them between his better works. I guarantee you, all the fans are potential buyers. I think the commercial profits are not the main reason here, something else is going on.
And what about great film such Flesh and Blood? This is his first American film, not the Robocop.

Flesh + Blood was his first English language film (except for the English language scenes in Soldier of Orange), but it was a European production. Robocop was his first Hollywood film.

Bluray isn't always better than DVD. I have the the Criterion version of Robocop on DVD and it looks a million times better than the crappy Bluray version that's in stores now.

I do want Flesh & Blood on Blu Ray. Hell, I can't even find the DVD for it in local stores.
