New Verhoeven movie : De stille kracht -the silent force

Filming should start soon on this very famous Dutch novel by Louis Couperus (end of 19th century) and will be a moody and erotic thriller set in Dutch colonial Batavia (West-Indies).

By the way : he also considered to film in 2008-2009 "The forgotten soldier" based on the accounts of Guy Sajer, as a soldier during WWII. Typical Verhoeven : Sejar was a member of the elite German Gross Deutschland division, which took part in the invasion of Russia.

Do you have a reliable source for your statement that filming should start soon? It would be really great if actual production would get underway, but considering the multitude of false news items about Verhoeven's upcoming projects, I remain somewhat sceptical. It's been almost a year since Paul Verhoeven announced on Dutch television that he was in the process of writing De stille kracht together with Gerard Soeteman, which he said was going well, so it could be that the script is (nearly) finished and a producer is being searched for.
