LOL. I used to confuse them when I was younger, they're not that alike, but they're both from the same period movie-wise, I guess. But they are definitely not identical twins. And I can bet that Kurt Russel can't bust a move the way Swayze did. Man I was in love with him since Dirty Dancing!

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Kurt has been around a lot longer that Swayze. Kurt worked side by side with Elvis, the king of busting moves! Kurt's father was also in the business for ages! Kurt as a child was in Gilligan's Island. Kurt is and came from Hollywood royalty. Swayze was a flash in the pan next to Kurt.

Regarding bustng a move, I guess you never saw Kurt play Elvis, or the little dance he did in Captain Ron and other movies. Swayze couldn't dance his way out of a paper bag compared to many others in the business that didn't have to rely on being touted most handsome. Not a speck of originality. He danced, but he was always self promoting, relying on his fair looks, making himself bigger than what he was. Sorry, but everything about swayze was so exaggerated, overblown, including his acting.

I never understood the appeal to swayze. To me, he was always a Kurt Russell/Jeff Bridges wannabe with a lot of issues.

when I was 8 (around the time Tango & Cash came out) I thought that Patrick had the lead role and nor Kurt!

It was a bit of disapointment to learn that Orry Maine wasn't doing a movie with rambo! (but when I realised it was jack burton instead of Orry, I wasn't that sad anymore!).

both the King and Kurt are/were awesome, but neither could dance anywhere near as good as Swayze, who was a dancer since early childhood and whose mother was a choreographer, instructor and dance studio owner. Swayze was clearly superior as a dancer, but obviously didn't have the crazy appeal and style of Elvis.

also, Kurt was in only one movie with Elvis as an uncredited child extra, so I don't get that working side by side thing....

waaaaaayyyyy overstated trolling......

as far as Swayze's career? He never got really huge (but did well to say the least) and made a couple of bad choices like choosing 'Road House' over being ahead of Kurt for 'Tango and Cash' (head slap), but he was an iconic pop staple of the late 80s early 90s and could act well even if he wasn't getting Oscars.

Most of all though, (in spite of having a few difficulties which almost all celebrities struggle with), he chose to try to live a better life... stayed married to the same woman for 34 years until the end, tried hard to live a life of self awareness and value, participated in charity, and many other things.

so for Patrick, I can say nothing but: Well Done!

RIP

People always talk about their resemblance, so you aren't alone. They did bare a strong resemblance to each other. Especially when Patrick used to wear his hair shorter and darker.
