Hollywood exploitation

I'm not too happy that Hollywood is remaking Patrick's movies--Dirty Dancing, Red Dawn, & now Point Break. Leave these movies alone. Respect his memory. I hope these remakes flop just like the Conan and Fright Night remakes did.

Oops! Didn't see your thread, made one myself basically saying the same thing. So I totally agree, Hollywoods blatant attempt to cash in on Patricks wonderful films. They may make a few bucks, but they won't be as successful, or as popular with fans-which in my book longevity is much more important than money, as the previous films were. Those films worked because of Patrick, because look at all the ones in the same vein as those films, but with different actors. They just didn't catch on.

Remakes a part of Hollywood. He isn't being exploited. Stop being a drama queen.

While true most remakes these days have been poor there however have been many great ones.

Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978)
The Fly (1986)
House of Wax (1953)
Magnificent Seven (1960)

Allisonarf, don't worry. Universal just pulled out doing Dirty Dancing over again. Thank goodness that remake is off the books. Red Dawn and Point Break are nothing compared to their trying to re-do DD. The DD movie is such a classic there is no way anyone could or should even try to re-do that movie. Jennifer Gray redid DD on Dancing with the stars with Derek Hough as far as I'm concerned. Jennifer proved she not only could dance with Johnny but she could out dance Penny too.
