She was blacklisted for speaking about drug use in Holly weird.

People went after her for years for her stand against drugs. People were taken out in LA for speaking out about Scientology. They pretend to have no interest in drugs but they are pushers of pharma big time.
Why so few movies? Because she doesn't follow the narrative in LA.

I don't remember Barbra ever saying much at all about drugs except that she very briefly experimented with pot in the early 70's and also did a skit about it at her live hotel shows..
