Only hard core loyalists can defend abysmal filmography.

20 films with perhaps four (Funny Girl, The Way We Were, Yentl and What's up Doc) displaying decent acting. The rest is Catskills mugging with the same delivery. Has anyone made a greater percentage of bad comedies than this heavy handed bore?

Jennifer Aniston maybe? I think Funny Girl and The Way We Were are the films she was best in.

I can think of:

Bette Midler, Goldie Hawn, Shirley MacLaine, Lily Tomlin, and Liza Minnelli.

I won't even get into the current crop of what passes off as 'comedic actresses' today on the theater marquee (Aniston, Cameron Diaz, Julia Roberts, Sandra Bullock, Drew Barrymore, Sarah Jessica Parker, J Lo, etc.).

Her film career has been disappointed considering her dynamic early performances in a variety of roles such as Funny Girl Hello Dolly The Owl and the Pussycat The way we were. It all went pear shaped around 1975 when she started to become involved in being more than an actress. Jill of all trades and master of none sadly. I think she is a good actress but has not reached the potential due to a variety of other reasons too.

She needs to get over it and make more films. She is trying to make the select few she's done seem more significant.

She'll be 72 next week. I don't think "getting over it and making more films" is on her agenda. She should have 'gotten over it' 20 years ago.
