Her being a legend has nothing to do with anything, stupid. She has not been part of the Broadway community in over 40 years, so why attend those awards? To promote the latest volume of her Broadway album? Her only Tony is honorary.

The answer to the OP's question is simple: She didn't *beep* want to attend.
