It's not so much they look alike but they have similar style and essence and grandeur . Ken Russell's Ideas were fantastic.He sent a brief outline which consisted in order of scene by scene by scene. It begins toward the end of her outrageous life,an old, one legged actress, preparing to go on stage for possibly her final curtain. Flash backs Includes her most memorable performance,CAMILLE. After we witness some highlights from her travels. A performance in Texas, in a tent, that was blown away by a storm.It ended with her back in her dressing room, dressed with heavily applied cracked ,make up made up to appear young, struggling to crawl on stage to perform her role of her life time, a beautiful young woman on the thresh hold of life. She was a fool to keep Russell hanging for two years. By the way Ken wrote this in 1973. He heard Nothing until 1975. She,unbeknownst to Russell, had a script written, payed for by her, based on the outline Ken wrote.He had to explain to her that too much time was spent waiting and lost interest, besides directing someone else's script. She then tried suing him, she lost.
