Streisand returns to the Tony Awards after 46 years

This Sunday, Barbra Streisand will be a presenter at the 70th Annual Tony Awards, her return to the ceremony since 1970 when she accepted a 'special Tony' for 'star of the decade'. It's expected that Streisand will present Best Musical, which is favored to go to the hit 'Hamilton' on Sunday night.

Other presenters include Cate Blanchette, Oprah Winfrey, Steve Martin and Audra MacDonald.

Some are speculating that some 'Gypsy' news may follow shortly after her appearance (probably some time early next week).

She's a shrewd business woman, for sure!

Her special Tony was ridiculous.

I can't believe she has chosen to go the route of Botox/Fillers, and it's way overdone. Her speech was beautiful, though.

Agree 100% on the Botox and collagen. Sadly, Streisand has joined her BFF Travolta in crossing over into the grotesque/scary phase of the "cosmetic alteration" obsession syndrome. Quoting a blogger, it looks as if she "walked into an angry beehive". The area around her eyes and cheeks have become so puffy--those trademark eyes are hardly visible anymore.

As for the speech, I thought just the opposite. It was very obvious she simply tacked on a few sentences regarding the recent tragedy to the beginning & end of the existing pre-canned speech she had already prepared. . .the lazy alternative to starting from scratch with original thought incorporating the context more cohesively.

Someone wrote this on fB that I thought was hilarious: "she looks like she has 2 pounds of gorilla glue on her face so that the skin would all stay up on her face and that she had her face sanded to an inth of the dermis layer."

I can't imagine how any aging actress can think that technically having no wrinkles but looking like you are wearing a deformed and scary silicone mask is better than a few wrinkles. Patty Lupone isn't the most attractive woman but she has let herself age naturally and it's much better than this joan rivers, barbra streisand, madonna crap. They all look terrible!

the only one who has aged well is Helen Mirren.

Let's add both Tom Cruise and Johnny Depp to the list, and they are both
aging well WITHOUT this stuff, AND they are only in their 50s!! Why all
the Botox??

I thought Streisand's OUTFIT was more horrendous than her face, which looks
no different than in countless still photos, including her "Partners"
cover shot.

THIS is the "face" you "Gypsy"-supporters can expect if the project
goes through.

As for Streisand's speech, it was fine. There's only so much that can
be said, and so many of the comments coming from celebrities - including
at the Tonys - came across glib.
