Streisand sounds very strained vocally here, husky even in slighter notes.
Newley was an incredible vocalist, so I'm wondering if his powerful, youthful
voice is shining light on Streisand's aging instrument, whereas she sounds
so much better with Jamie Foxx (who isn't much of a singer) and in the "At the
Ballet", where her voice is "disguised" somewhat by the two other ladies.
Even though Newley (and his song, "Who Can I Turn To?") is the classiest singer
so far, these electronic duets with the dead are always clumsy - and a bit
creepy.
So far, I've not headr anything that will make me purchase this album, although
I'll give all the cuts a quick listen on Youtube.
I think she sounds great. It's not young Barbra but still great.

You seem to think she s%#ts ice cream. But I digress...I wasn't
comparing Streisand to her younger self, but rather to the other two
recent album cuts. I think she sounds the best - so far - on the Foxx
duet.
In all fairness to Streisand, the only other two singers of her caliber
I've heard sing at age 74 were Lena Horne and Sinatra - and Streisand
sounds better than both combined. But I'm still not laying down a dime
for a CD I can listen to once or twice on Youtube (I would never listen
to "Partners" again).
