This was surprising. I really wonder how they make these decisions.

shareYou're right - that is B.S. How dare they create the impression that they omitted Paul intentionally for production purposes. They were careless; I don't know why they wouldn't take ownership of that. Better to accept responsibility than to double down and claim it was deliberate because it was actually determined by people that an actor of Paul's obvious gifts ws not worthy of the In Memoriam montage. His daughter was perfectly within her right to attack them for it.
shareOne of the best Oscar moments was Mira paying tribute to her dad when she won her 1995 Oscar for Mighty Aphrodite, but, alas, she's since spoken of that Oscar win being 'tarnished' due to *entirely* *unverified* accusations against Woody Allen.
I wonder if this clouded the Academy's decision regarding Paul Sorvino's inclusion. I certainly don't think it helped. 😠
He was a Trump supporter, can't think of any other reason for his exclusion.

Does that mean that when Oscar-winner/4x Oscar nominee Jon Voight dies, he'll be excluded from the In Memoriam section? I guess he better renounce his Trump support quickly...
