I've seen her in a number of other productions and she's an excellent actress.
However, I have to agree that her attempt at a southeastern US accent was decidedly less than successful.
I also have to agree with Darwinskid that those Sci-Fi Channel [Extremely] Original Movies don't set the bar very high. Most of those offerings that I've been roped into seeing have been almost laughable. I will say that they do seem to be trying harder. I did find Annihilation Earth to be a good bit better than a number of their previous offerings:
Treasure of the Grand Canyon
Cyclops
Minotaur
This one could clear the bar set by those three with two broken vertebræ and a walker.
The CGI monsters in those three were cartoonish, to be charitable.
Treasure... had the pale natives wearing flip-flops! They also had the Aztecs thoroughly confused with the Mayans and the Inca.
The Cyclops is supposed to be a Greek story, but they set it in Rome and the writers knew less about the Rome of Tiberius Claudius Nero Cæsar than I know about the fine art of oriental carpet weaving.
Treasure... and Cyclops and Minotaur included some excellent actors but no amount of talent could save those thoroughly flawed scripts.

All I can say to the writers, directors and producers of those other three movies is:
I admire your ability to get paid for that.
