I wonder who gets his assets as I assume his parents are gone and he didnt have a partner or children. Did he have siblings? Anyone know what happens now?

shareWhomever he named in his will. Being that he was sick for some time, I imagine he had one drawn up.
If he had no family, I imagine he would leave it to various charities, SAG charity, American Cancer Society, etc. and some to any close friends.
If he died with no will and no relatives, the estate would most likely revert to the state he lived in.
