trapped in the mission

"Trapped in the Mission" is a quirky San Francisco tale of hard drinking, low philosophizing and assisted suicide.

Paul Dugan is an ex-manager, a “boomer bum” who’s poor and without property. Struggling to stay alive he finds the sum total of his existence defined upon the edge of the Golden Gate Bridge.

A knife in his leg from a stranger, fired from his job, a tire rolled randomly down a San Francisco hill, Paul finds himself getting into trouble in the San Francisco’s Mission District when, through a strange twist of fate, he is flushed from his doom when he accidentally meets Mary, an 85-year-old woman. Mary, a former dancer, who lost the use of her legs, has a bit of a chip on her shoulder about her imminent death.
Mary teaches Paul through their brief friendship and her quiet death that “everybody’s got a rock star dance; even pissed off geriatrics...”

Trapped in the Mission moves through the colorful San Francisco Mission District with speed and dark humor.

The script is available on request.
