Always steals the show, incredibly versatile

This has got to be the most versatile actor I've ever seen. Villains, comedy, drama, but no matter what he is always so natural at it and completely upstages all the actors around him. It's amazing because he looks so ordinary. His performance is the only thing everyone remembers from Chicago, he gets the biggest laughs in Step Brothers, and he's just as nasty a villain in Gangs as the butcher, and without even having to go completely over the top like Daniel Day-Lewis. And even when he is a supporting actor like in Boogie Nights, every scene he's in he takes and completely makes. Excellent actor! The people saying he sucks must be crazy!

He does come across as very natural, I'll have to agree with that. He basically stole the show from Winslet, Waltz and Foster in "Carnage", and that's saying alot because they were all brilliant. Great, great performance and a huge comedic talent, too.

Great performances. I'd like to see another one like Boogie Nights. That film was crazy too!

He's about as versatile as they come, I agree.

I agree, he's got a pretty impressive resume. He seems to be in everything!

Dude is so awesome. I've yet to see a performance from him I didn't love.

I agree that he is extremely versatile and talented. Not many actors that are well known as comedians can be so natural in thrillers, dramas etc, without standing out and seeming out of place.

He is great in any genre.

He's a remarkable actor. He reminds me of many of the truly great character actors. Always can steal a scene in the most understated of ways.
