Actually a pretty good actor

I'd only seen him in stuff like Step Brothers and Talledega Nights but just watched Magnolia and didn't know there was that side to him. The whole cast was great in Magnolia but he managed to give one of the more memorable performances along with Hoffman just because of the genuine kindness and sensitivity they bring to the movie. He's also been in many other dramatic roles like Boogie Nights, The thin red line, Gangs of New York, etc. Just didn't know he had such range. Magnolia really proved that to me and look forward to seeing some of his other work.

He's an Excellent actor who seems very comfortable in dramatic as well as comedic roles... Luv this dude :-)

He's ' definitely ' a good actor. I've been following his work for 25 years and have never been disappointed. Not sure if I'd waste my time with something like Step Brothers or Talladega Nights, though.

Step Brothers is fun, if you're in the mood for something light and silly.

I kind of prefer him more in dramatic roles, like Hard Eight, State of Grace, The River Wild, Georgia, What's Eating Gilbert Grape, Magnolia, Boogie Nights. I like him in the comedy dramas Cyrus and The Good Girl, too.

He is a great actor he can do comedy and drama. There are not many performers in Hollywood that are both character actors and comedians
