Is THE John Cazale of our time

He has worked with some of the most talented and acclaimed directors currently in the business and has again and again shown his range as a brilliant supporting actor

He is a good actor, for sure...definitely under-rated and mostly unnoticed. It's sad, to me, that most people know him only for roles such as Step Brothers and such. He's been in some truly great movies.

Yes he is. To be more specific what I meant by the John Cazale of our time is that he has worked with some of the best directors in the business in some greatly unappreciated supporting roles.

One hopes that he lives to see the life that Mr. Cazale unfortunately did not.

I know. Poor John (Cazale).

John C. Reilly is not even close to being the John Cazale of our time. I don't picture Reilly playing Fredo or Sal in DDA, but I will agree that Reilly has unrecognized talent in his earlier roles such as The Good Girl, all the PTA films, Thin Red Line, etc. He doesn't display the deep emotion that Cazale expressed in his roles.

What great movies has he been in?
