An angel on earth

I’m not a religious man but if there is one entertainer who could be compared to a divine being this woman is it. Over half a century of bringing nothing but pure joy to millions and touching all those lives with her talent and positivity, never with a single bad word about anybody. I truly believe her presence has enriched the world and makes it a better place. Her philanthropy is as unwavering as her crystal pure vocals.

Thank you Dolly, I will always love you.

Clearly. Your posting history shows you don’t do anything else here but follow and flame me. Perhaps I should feel honoured, if it wasn’t so pathetic. Get a life sad little sock.

I would argue you got yourself banned with your pathetic vendetta and flagrant disregard of the forum rules. No not particularly happy, totally ambivalent about it actually.

Dig all you like digger. If you’re in touch with anyone from when I was 12 you’re doing better than me.

I’d say this shit just got sadder. Really, move on and get a life 😃👍

I'm not a fan of hers but I idly follow entertainment industry gossip, and what I hear about her is that she's overwhelmingly nice to EVERYONE ON EARTH. Everyone she meets under any circumstances goes away saying what a lovely, sweet, down-to-earth lady she is, no exceptions.

You may be right about her.

reply

Absolutely. For a woman who’s public image relies largely on self-confessed physical artifice, she appears to be the most genuine celebrity you could ever meet.

reply

Well yes, and no. The thing is, nobody is genuinely happy to drop what they're doing and have a nice chat with every random schmuck on Earth, no matter what's being interrupted or how much coffee they've had. So for Parton to be nice to everyone, everywhere... that's not so much genuine interest in people, as policy. Being nice to , everyone, all the time, under every circumstance takes an iron will and absolute determination to stick to the niceness, which isn't the same thing a genuine cheerfulness but it's highly admirable, and awesome to behold.

More entertainers should realize what a policy of being nice to people can do for their careers, but it's not easy. It's really not easy.

reply

Well of course she’s only human and certainly smart enough to know her brand and maintain a happy disposition. I think what makes her rather unique is her rise to stardom from actual poverty, not merely rags to riches, but proper dirt-poor beginnings where her family of 14 or so lived in a makeshift 1 bedroom cottage. That sort of introduction to the world would surely give you a unique perspective on fame when it arrives and keep you grounded, and I feel it has a lot to do with her unfailingly sunny outlook on life.

That said I make no excuses for my personal bias, being a lifelong massive fan of her and her music. I just feel there is a simplicity to her kindness that would be very difficult to fake and maintain over 60 years in the public eye. Either way, the way her appeal crosses all ages, faiths, political and moral viewpoints, creeds and sexualities makes her very special indeed. In my eyes at least.

reply

Yeah, she may be that nice as a choice, but you're right - she couldn't possibly be so good at being nice if she wasnt basically nice underneath all the artifice and professionalism! I could never do it, but then, I'm not basically nice, and neither are most people in showbiz.

Maybe she's genuinely grateful for what she has and what she's been able to do for others (her theme park brought hundreds of thousands of jobs to a backwoods area), and appreciates her public jn a way that most entertainers do not.

reply

I don’t know about that Otter, you seem pretty nice to me. Low bullshit threshold but then again Dolly herself wouldn’t suffer fools gladly, that doesn’t necessarily make a person nasty.

Yeah, another example of her giving spirit is her imagination library program

https://imaginationlibrary.com/

Fantastic initiative that makes a difference to many children around the world, and a rather selfless endeavour for a woman who never had children of her own.

The $1million she recently donated to the research efforts for a COVID-19 vaccine shouldn’t be sniffed at either. The list goes on...

reply

She's a good egg. I'm basically a good egg too, if I do say so myself, but I'm just too cynical and misanthropic to qualify as nice.

GREAT LADY...SINGER,SONGWRITER,ACTOR,ETC ETC ETC...SHE GETS BONUS POINTS FROM ME FOR BEING HANNAH MONTANA'S AUNT....HANNAH HAS DOLLY AS HER AUNT,VICKE LAWRENCE IS HER GRANDMOTHER AND BROOKE SHIELDS PLAYS HER MOM.

reply

Don’t bother K, this is one defective tool. That he knows so little about you to think you are a) Aussie and b) someone who would bother playing such pathetic online games that he himself engages in, shows he is really nothing to concern yourself with.

The last thing I want to do is drag anyone else into this pitiful and childish exercise in trolling.

No one is interested in your delusions.

You know you’re just going to get banned again, right? No skin off my nose but you would do well to leave my mate Kowalski out of it. Every regular here knows that although we get along well, we couldn’t be more different (other than our shared love of cats and weed). That I’m even humouring your fantasies with a response is probably wrong, but now you’re targeting my friend I’m actually angry. There you go, mission accomplished you sad little troll.

You do know stalking is a crime don’t you?

So you want me exposed? Now I think we’re getting somewhere. Sorry, but I don’t form romantic attachments to psychopaths. Flattering though, I guess.

Ask me whatever you want. Unlike you with your VPN and multiple emails, I have nothing to hide.

Your research is slipping sock. Try again but think South. If you look hard enough you’ll find a conversation I had with my friend in the UK (who will also no doubt be pinned by you as another pseudonym of mine) where I stated my exact location. Happy hunting sock!

Ps. This is rather fun now, thanks for the lolz crazy person 😂😂😂

She does deserve a lot of credit for keeping her persona drama-free and positive.
I'm not a religious man either but I always admired her song Coat Of Many Colors.
To remind all of us, children especially, we all belong in society and not to be ashamed because you don't have the nice new things other people have is such a universal and touching sentiment.

reply

Yeah, Coat of Many Colors is surely one of the most heartfelt and touching songs about growing up poor and the healing power of love ever written. That’s what I mean when I talk about her sincerity, you just know listening to that song that the writer is speaking from the heart. Very few songwriters have that talent.

reply

Clearly you aren't a religious person or you would realize she is far from an angel, her affairs and open marriage are enough to knock her out of the angel category.

Does she do good things? yes. She seems a nice person, but not up to the level of divinity, that's a very tall order and I don't think you'll find any one that can make it to the level.

reply

Clearly 🙄

Excuse my hyperbole. The comparison was not meant to be taken so literally or to offend the devout.

reply

Yes, intelligent and talented lady with great business sense.

reply

I feel like a dope and a tool/fool for sincerely replying to this post.
