The way that the two of them speak, in my opinion, is identical. And they even look similar.

It's funny, because once, I had a classmate who swore that Sam had been in LotR, and when I assured him he hadn't, he didn't actually give up until I showed him the IMDb entry to proove it was HW and not Sam! Ahh, memories... From what I've heard, he was asked by Peter Jackson to be in the movie(s), but he didn't have the time or something like that. Which is a shame, but there you go.
