Voice changed?

I've always loved Sam Neill's deep distictive voice. Esp. in Jurassic Park. But while watching one of his recent movies I noticed his voice has changed. It's softer now and I had trouble hearing him. Anyone else notice this?

Yea I notice idk why but it's weird!

Maybe that was just part of the character.
