VR - you might take time to notice that the original person stated that he HEARD A RUMOUR - implying heavily that he did not start it. Then s/he asked for people to either confirm, or refute the rumour.

So in future, before you make yourself look like a complete moron, a person who clearly has more insults than you know what to do with them, a person who appears to be demented beyond belief, you may want to take time to actually READ what someone has put.

And as for an answer to the original poster: Andie MacDowell once said, in interview that "Yes it's a fact I'm retarded" - this would be the source of the rumour, though I suspect she was "in character" whilst saying such a thing, and is probably a very intelligent person.

After reading this thread I just can't look at her the same anymore. Saw Tara Road today and all I kept thinking was "mildly retarded, mildly retarded", but it all made sense though. There has always been something pointing towards that, IMO, and now it's all clear. If she truly is mildly retarded then she has done an excellent job being able to establish herself as an actress in Hollywood in spite of her mental challenge.

I have my suspicions about Meg Ryan too.

I'm just curious - how did this person "elaborate" on the rumour? Where is all this "down and out actress with a drink problem"? He said he heard a rumour, stated the rumour, and then asked if anyone would like to confirm or scotch it. To scotch a rumour means to put an end to it. Is that where you think he accused her of being an alcoholic?

Anyway, FYI: when your post contains words like fat, ugly, jealous, d*ckhead, "half a brained cell" (which doesn't even make sense), etc., you really can't take the moral high ground against someone who was allegedly insulting.
