There was nobody "underage" involved with that, as far as I'm aware.

The person in question was 16 years old. She had reached age of consent in that jurisdiction.
That is so. Here is what also occurred:
He was arrested.
He cut a deal so any possible charges would be dropped in exchange for community service. (Why make a deal if you consider yourself to be totally innocent?)
The incident and the public exposure of it convinced many people that he was a slimeball.
