shareThank you for the links! I loved him in all the episodes he guest-appeared on. He very clearly had such a wonderful sense of humour in real life as well as in the movies.

This was 1957 because he'd just done Operation Mad Ball (1957) with Ernie Kovacs, who was in the panel. I find it very interesting that he mentions that he and Ernie were set to do The Notorious Landlady (1962) together. This wasn't started and released until 1962, by then Ernie had died in a car accident but was replaced by the equally wonderful Fred Astaire, who really was great in the part opposite Jack. I wonder why it was delayed for so long though. I know Jack had new filming commitments with Billy Wilder shortly on the horizon by that point but he then had made two more movies with director Richard Quine before production started on Landlady with Quine.

And this was 1964 because he's promoting How to Murder Your Wife (1965). Somebody commented on the video to say that it's likely he's imitating Peter Falk on this episode, which would make perfect sense seeing as he was filming The Great Race (1965) with Falk in August-November 1964.
Marilyn Monroe: I don't want to be rich. I just want to be wonderful.
