does anyone else wonder that Jack dies almost a year to the date of Walter Matthaus I think he gave up after his death,,just watch any old award show you can tell they are the very best of friends..............

shareNot exactly. He never gave up in showbusiness. Jack carried on working until the very end and had many things in mind to do before his death. Even during those two years where he was ill, he worked like a trouper and still won awards like his Emmy in 2000. But yes, he was naturally very affected by the death of Walter.

shareNot even the exact date, which would still have no meaning in reality. The human mind loves to make patterns and draw conclusions (death from heartache for his late friend?) where there are none. They were both elderly men, they died, end of story.
