I remember being creeped out when this guy achieved mainstream fame in the late 90s-early 2000s.

The first wave of hipsters made him into a cultural icon back then. That was just wrong. A slimy gross porn-king like him belonged only in the cultural underground. All he was going to do was pollute the mainstream, I thought, and I was right.

Oh I don't know. I think he was always more infamous than famous. He only achieved similar notoriety to John Holmes or Jeff Stryker, and a lot less than someone like Traci Lords. I don't really think he polluted anything, except a lot of poor girls who needed the cash.
