His experiences in the making of the very fine James Cameron picture The Abyss (1989) apparently were so unpleasant he said he would never talk about it!

He was wonderful in Phantom. Better go see it fast though because i don't think it will be around very long. It was a very good film that didn't get enough promotion.
shareThanks for the tip, Pippy-4. Harris never disappoints, maybe some of his movies don't do well (The Way Back -2010 - for example) but he always throws himself into his role whatever it may be.
Phantom is such a generic title I could see where that alone might sink it. People on this Board are comparing to other submarine dramas of the last 20 years so the buzz is not good.
I'm glad you decided to find out on your own and it sounds like you enjoyed yourself with it, if only for the performance of Ed Harris.

We were in the AMC and walking to the theatre where it was playing. We heard one couple pass by and say what is Phantom? The other person said maybe its Phantom of the Opera.......YIKE Ed was amazing, but the rest of the cast did a terrific job. Not a bad one in the bunch. I saw it twice because i went with a friend and then my husband wanted to see it too.
