Did he dislike Roseanne and working on her show?

I heard he had problems with Tom Arnold but I had a feeling that there was some animosity between Goodman and Roseanne, as well.

Can anyone confirm or deny?

reply

no one cared for Tom.

He only wanted to get out of the show early on because he wanted to focus on a movie career, but they wouldn't let him out of his television contract, and the cast became quite close by th etime they realized they had a hit, so he stayed.

except for Tom.

I'm glad he did he and roseanne have such good dynamic together.

My friend was a production asst on the show and said Roseanne yelled at John all the time and was in several manic phases and screamed at almost everyone.

did they also mention he took a lot of "abuse" like that from her instead of letting her yell at the kids? because he did.

also, Roseanne, John, and Laurie presented a united front on other matters, too, when the suits tried interfering with the show, esp after that ep where she "left town to take care of her dad" and came back "Dorothy Hamill style!" that ep was supposed to spin the show off, "Valerie"-style* withOUT Roseanne until those three realized they had been tricked. So, no "Conner Family" for ABC after that.

*re: NBC vs Valerie Harper over her sitcom "Valerie", which became "Valerie's Family" after her ouster, and eventually "The Hogan Family" ...and unleashed Jason Bateman on the world.
