How Did He Feel About Dan's Death?

I haven't actually found anything where he said how he felt about Dan Conners heart attack. Do you know or have info that will help?

Roseanne has talked about it but she's never mentioned John's feelings.

"I didn't have to learn any lines!"-John Goodman on his role in The Artist.

I thought the whole show was a made up story in the end anyway

No Dan really died.

NO HE DIDN'T!

and he said fairly recently that Dan and Walter were his two roles that were good to him, because of all the fans for each.

Yes, he did die. It was all a made up story...everyone was really married to other spouses than what we knew and dan did not make it out of the heart attack like the show first portrayed.

reply

I know that. I'm asking how John Goodman felt about Dan's death.

reply

He didn't care. By season 9 he wanted out of the show, but he was still under contract. That's why he was in as few as possible for that season.

If you ever get to meet him or see him around, please NEVER call him Dan, or Dan Conner. He either won't respond or give a smart ass answer. It was one of his more popular roles, but he's infinitely better than that character.

reply

If i ever meet him i plan on calling him nothing but Mr. Goodman.

Bob, John missed less than half the season, but recorded inserts for several, so he really only "missed" six eps.

As for his absence, *ROSEANNE* waited until the last minute to decide on s9, by which time John had signed on for three movies and Lecy had already stated the only reason she came back for s8 was that it was going to be the final season. They managed to work around John's schedule as Borrowers and BB2K had wrapped before "Roseanne" started back up, so he was really only gone to shoot Fallen. You can see the beginnings of Walter in John's hair/beard in the final eps. Then Dirty Work is pretty much a one day cameo job.

As for his feelings, he acknowledged the cast as a second family when talking to Sara on The Talk, with the girls getting him ready for his own daughter. He knows it was one of his big breaks and is grateful for it and to Roseanne, and I can guess his thoughts on Dan's demise have probably changed over the years, but he was still willing to do that pilot with her a couple years back.
