What is her best film/ performance?

I've only ever seen her in Kalifornia, 24, Swimming with Sharks, and a couple of episodes on Star Trek. I think she's brilliant in all of those films.
Looking at her filmography, it appears that she has been in very little that warrants her talent as an actress.

You've seen more of her than I have. I've seen her in 24 and a couple of episodes of Star Trek. Also, if you've seen the T.V. movie Johnson County War, she plays Rory Hammett. Sadly though, you don't see much of her, but she was still fantastic

You're right though, she seems way underrated. She's awesome in what I have seen her in, and I wish someone would offer her a lead in something.

Please tell me, what would "warrant her talent as an actress"?

I've never seen her in Star Trek (I only saw a few seasons of TNG), but seen her in the regular role of Dr Juliana Cox on the awesome "Homicide: LOTS", as Admiral Cain in 3 episodes of the also awesome "Battlestar Galactica" (and that 3-parter was among the best BSG episodes, IMO), and main character's deaf wife in "Messiah" (she had to learn sign language for that role). She was very different in each of these roles. I've also seen a bit of her in "24" and "District", but I've never followed these shows regularly. (And I also saw her in Kalifornia and Swimming With Sharks.)

I agree, Homocide was such a well-acted show, but of course the basis of the show (the book by David Simon) was also excellent and Simon was heavily involved in the production. The cast, the storylines, the social commentary...it was all so good, that it made Friday nights for me for the time the show was on.
Now, we can see it on Sleuth Channel, so we get *some* good tv--and also a look at Reed Diamond and Kyle Secor "back in the day."

it is one my 10 best shows ever on tv. laughed at all the people talked about how great nypd blue but never watched this. this was the show. the wire & the shield are excellent today.

I agree--Homocide was MUCH better than NYPD Blue...better acted, more interesting conflict between the detectives and much, much funnier than any of the other "cop shows".
I just discovered The Wire and I'm watching the last season to get caught up before the new one starts.

Everybody, stop calling it Homocide, it's Homicide. LOL

I agree that it was much, much better than NYPD Blue. I must add to that list that the episodic plots on Homicide were infinately better and more interesting than on NYPD Blue, where every episode was predictable, and you always knew the detectives were going to solve the crime. Homicide was much more realistic in that respect - many crimes remained unsolved (including the legendary Adena Watson case), and the board with the red, black and blue letters was always there to remind the viewers just how many of the cases remain unsolved. The stories, the music, the dialogue, it all gave Homicide the feel of a great, intense drama about justice, life, death, while NYPD Blue felt to me just like...something mildly fun you watch on TV...and I very rarely found a story gripping. I think the only episodes which felt intense were those, usually once a season, when someone close to Sipovitz would die - partner, wife, or son - or he's in some kind of big trouble, or he starts drinking again...It seemed that having $hit happen to Sipovitz, or occasionally some other detective, was the only thing the writers could come up with to make the episodes more gripping.

Having seen myself Michelle's performance's in Battlestar Galactica, 24, Brimstone, Homicide, Prison Break, Kalifornia, Swimming with sharks, Seinfeld, Boston Legal, Star Trek and The inside, if I had to choose one of them... I'd doubt among Admiral Cain (BSG), Julianna Cox (HLOTS) and Zoya Petikof (The inside, guest star). Her Character in Star Trek was also great but since I find it quite similar to Cain and she had more episodes to develop Ro Laren (ST), I think the vote would have to be in that case to Cain, for making us feel that much with almost no words and no time.

So I don't know, maybe Cain? Or Zoya? Because she had one single episode to play her and it was such an interesting character and played it also in a way that makes you love her, no matter what.

Anyway, I always find her characters special and that's something she gives to them without a doubt.
