Fincher's Zodiac (2007): The Human Narratives That Emerge From the Data

I've always considered this to be Fincher's masterpiece. To me, it's a profound work and I've been working for quite some time on a piece of writing that lays out why. I've just finished it today.

Zodiac (2007): The Human Narratives That Emerge From the Data
"What starts out as a collection of data fragments in a murder case builds into a fascinating story of human and philosophical dimensions…"

I didn't read the long winded analysis, but I do think this a great film that extrapolates a certain narrative about the Zodiac killer and presents a blend of murder/mystery with human drama and its consequences on the social fabric of the world being portrayed.

That being said, Fincher and the source material have been proven to be either loosely interpreted and/or entirely fabricated for dramatic effect. In the end, it doesn't pass the authenticity test, which is unfortunate because the film's heart was about finding the truth.
