I saw it for the first time a couple weeks back and absolutely loved it. The story was great and kept me on edge the entire time. I remember hearing a while back that Fincher was considering doing a remake of it with Ben Affleck starring. Any truth to that?

I haven't seen the original, but I have no doubt in my mind that Fincher would be able to introduce a fresh and exciting take on a familiar story - just look at the work he did on Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.
