Why did he never become a big star?!

Estevez has got to be one of the most under-rated actors in Holloywood today, I still remember some of his best work in "The Breakfast Club" and "Young Guns" and still wonder why he never rose to the top. Maybe it was some poor movie choices. I'm not overly familiar with say "Freejack" which to my knowledge wasn't recieved well. He's a better actor than his brother Charlie who while I like his performance in "Two and a Half Men" I've never really been wowed by although he seems to be having slightly more success at the moment.

If there's someone who really needs a shot a really good role It's Estevex, like Robert Downey Jr. and Mickey Rourke he's someone who should get the right part to cattapult him to major stardom.

Estevez definitely had his glory days. His Brat Pack years got him steady work, and he's made a number of memorable films since then. He also showed that he can be a good director and screenwriter. "War At Home" and "Bobby" were good, emotional films, and hopefully "The Way" will give him more publicity as a film maker.

"How great is that guy, he's a Sheen, he's from an acting dynasty. Yet he chooses to be Mexican, makes it huge, realizes people have had enough of him and is decent enough to fall off the face of the earth"

He had his glory days in the 80s but things seem to have quieted down for him. I read an article recently about he and his longtime girlfriend have started a winery on their estate. He goes a long time between projects. An actor with his track record who wanted to work regularly probably could. He doesn't have the movie star life and if what is happening to Charlie is any indication, probably doesn't want it that badly either

Stan Smith, American Dad.

All actors choose some bum projects in their lives he's not alone there. Maybe he just didn't want big stardom in the end and is happier directing?
