Jennifer Lawrence has an Oscar for "Silving Lining's Playbook."

And this man doesn't for "Full Metal Jacket"? Ermey was the best thing in "Jacket." Lawrence, on the other hand, while competent, was, maybe, the third or fourth best thing in "Playbook."

Ermey was not a member of the Academy and therefore ineligible for nomination. They offered him membership in order to nominate him for a role. (It might have been Full Metal Jacket but not sure) He declined the offer.
