shareTotally agreed, Vallian45 and OP. Sam Elliot is and was one of the most beautiful faces ever to grace our screens. Put it together with that voice and that physique, you couldn't ask for more MAN. Being "of an age" myself, I love it that his looks have matured so beautifully. He can park his boots under my bed any time (joking, maybe).
EDIT: I just saw Sam's version of "The Quick and the Dead," which showed a soft side of him within the iconic cowboy that causes involuntary drooling. That face expressing being deeply in love is even more beautiful.

I'm not surprised that your sister's ex had swarms of girls after him. I dated (briefly) a guy who looked very much like Sam, but he was a redhead and dumb, and that killed it. I must say he was the only red-headed man I ever met who didn't instantly turn me off, but he did have that irresistible Sam Elliot look. His wife left him for precisely the same reason your sister left hers.
