New to Tim Curry fandom; which movies to watch?

I've only seen a few things with Tim Curry in them; Clue, It, and The Wild Thornberrys. I know of some obvious ones that he has prominent roles in such as Annie, Legend, and of course, Rocky Horror Picture Show. I plan on watching those soon, but I was also hoping for some suggestions from fans of which other roles of him I should see. He's got a loaded filmography and would love to start with the best, and films/tv that he has a lot of screen time in. I would appreciate any helpful suggestions as there's so much to wade through just reading his page!

Tim Curry doesn't really have a lot to do in Annie, so I wouldn't make that too high a priority. My next picks would be:

1. Rocky Horror - Yeah, it's as great as everyone says it is.
2. Legend - Entertainment Weekly once described his performance as the best ever in a bad movie. I concur.
3. Ferngully: The Last Rainforest - Tim Curry has done a lot of voice work, and this is probably the best of the lot.
4. Pass The Ammo - Deep Cut, not too easy to find, but I think it's one of his best comic performances.
5. Tales From The Crypt: He stars in the Season 5 premiere "Death Of Some Salesman", where he plays at triple(!) role. Very Creepy.

You've got a fun journey ahead of you.

Thank you so much for your reply, I really appreciate the direction! So many people have suggested I see Annie, but if he doesn't have much to do in it, I won't rush that viewing. I did see Rocky Horror Picture Show last night and I am completely obsessed! It was wonderful!

I'm really looking forward to Pass The Ammo, I've seen a few interviews with Tim Curry in which he talks about it! Thank you again for giving me a place to start, I'm really looking forward to this journey!

I agree about Pass the Ammo. That would be a great one to check out. Another obscure film to check out would be Oscar. Another comedy, and he plays a great romantic role in that one.

I love Jesus Christ and am 100% proud!

He did an incredibly creepy guest villain role (Billy Flynn) on Criminal Minds in a two episode arc - the season 5 finale ("Our Darkest Hour") and the season 6 premiere ("The Longest Night").

He also did most (10 of the 13) of the audiobooks of "A Series of Unfortunate Events" (Lemony Snicket) - they were amazing. They are 2-3 hours long - so that gives you a LOT of Tim Curry voice work!

Tim's part in Annie is big but he does sing. Anything he singing it should be boost high up the list.

Unfortunately, Tim is in a lot of awful films and he is by far the best thing in them.

IT - if you don't mind horrors, I would probably avoid if it's not your thing.

Worst Witch - just probably watch Tim's one song on youtube and that's it. If you thought Harry Potter was an original idea, no really and this proves it.

The Three Musketeers
Muppets Treasure Island - singing again

That's about for good(ish) movies with Tim having a reasonable sized part.

Look up his stage work as well. Some good soundtracks and clips about.

Another good film it's a small role but a good film that Tim Curry was in was Hunt for Red October he was also in Congo

I watched Pass the Ammo over the weekend and it was really wonderful to see TC in a comedic role like that, especially with Annie Potts. Their chemistry really resonated on-screen.

I'll have to check out Oscar. Thank you very much for your input and direction.

Columbia75, You were NOT kidding about Tim being in some dreadful movies! I watched Scary Movie 2 for him and could barely make it through it because it was so bad.

I am really looking forward to Worst Witch, his singing is just incredible!

Thank you so much for your input and direction!
