"The Wife." Will this be it? Glenn's Oscar?

All the elements, on paper, are aligning. A compelling, elegant story. A talented director. A great cast. Glenn in the lead. There are no coincidences; Glenn has been trying for years to mount an award worthy film project ( Always On My Mind, The Duchess, The Queen of Spades), and unlike her failed attempts (except for Albert Nobbs), this one seems to actually be coming together.

Let's wait and see. Very excited for what's to come.

I was looking at her upcoming projects and this one seemed pretty promising to me too, for all the reasons you mentioned.

Fingers crossed this it. I'm definitely rooting for her!

Where does fantasy end and reality begin?

If she was ever destined for an Oscar, it should have been for either Fatal Attraction or Dangerous Liaisons in her early career or Albert Nobbs more recently. The fact that she didn't win for those tells me that she probably won't ever win---at least not in that respect---but she wins for being tied with Deborah Kerr for having the most nominations without a win. So, if she's nominated again, she and she alone will hold that respectable record. So, that's something.

It would be nice if she won, but I also think it's nice that she's tied now with the very lady she presented an Honorary Oscar to in 1994.

Please excuse typos/funny wording; I use speech-recognition that doesn't always recognize!

Thelma Ritter also shares that record too. If Glenn does ever receive another nomination I hope it`s one that will give her the win ,not out of being overdue but because her performance is the year`s best. Geraldine Page lost 7 times before winning on her 8th and last nomination , be bad For Glenn to have to go through that. I hope if she never wins an Oscar she least would be given an honorary Oscar for the amount of times she`s been nominated and lost , Steve Martin received one and he`s never been nominated and he`s only 70, so why not give Glenn hers as well.
