will he and johnny depp work together again

I think that what is interesting -- and I may be wrong and wouldn't mind being proved so -- is that I haven't seen any comments of support from Tim Burton FOR Johnny Depp through any of this.

Clearly, for many years Depp was Tim Burton's "go to star" for his movies: Edward Scissorhands, Ed Wood, Sleepy Hollow , the animation films, Willy Wonka, Sweeney Todd, Alice in Wonderland, Dark Shadows...it was as if Burton simply wanted Depp to be his partner as often as he could have him.

That said, I believe Depp turned down a role in Mars Attacks! (Which one? I'll guess the Pierce Brosnan or Michael J. Fox roles). And I suppose he neither fit Planet of the Apes(Mark Wahlberg got it) nor Big Fish(Ewen Macgregor to it.)

Still: Burton and Depp were a big team and the utter silence of Tim Burton intrigues me -- perhaps it was the best friendship Burton could offer to say nothing.

And: Will Johnny Depp ever be considered "fully bankable" again? Whether he is or he isn't...Burton should use Depp in something.
