ok enough already, why can't he make a normal film?

his whole career, he has made weird movies about weird people and weird stories.

they always talk about how ground breaking of a director that he is but if he's so ground breaking and creative then how come he can't ever, and I mean ever direct a movie about a normal person and have that movie have a normal story in it? I was bugged by this 10 years ago.

in 2003 when big fish came out it was the most normal tim burton movie but even it was weird, with weird characters in a weird story. it was the most accessible tim burton movie because it was the least weird tim burton movie.

if he is a legendary movie director and has been around for 25 years directing movies then how come he can't diversify? how come he can't stretch his creative range and creative imagination as a film director?

and I could have said this 10 years ago and been just as right.

every important director makes at least one other kind of film than what they usually direct. even scorsese has made a couple comedies.

Big Eyes, retard.

CG gore is the worst thing that has ever happened to the horror genre.

reply

Or Ed Wood.

And what a stupid complaint anyway. What's a 'normal' movie?

reply

Ed wood, Big Fish, Big eyes are pretty 'normal'
Many of the other films like Batman, Wonka, Alice are pretty normal fantasy films, nothing weird about them.

Plus, if you want "Normal" there are plenty of other film makers who work in that way. You wouldn't ask your local butcher to bake you a bloody cake.

Oh dear, numpties was woken up, must be October.

reply

His most "normal" (conventional) movie was his Planet of the Apes remake.

It was also his weakest work in my opinion.

reply

and what a stupid person that you are. not knowing that tim burton only makes weird movies is so stupid it's amazing. Ed wood, yeah another weird movie that he made. a normal movie is a movie that is not weird. that's pretty easy to figure out.

reply

first of all you don't know what weird is apparently. to say tim burton's films aren't weird is like saying jim carrey isn't known for being a comedic actor.

ed wood, big fish and big eyes are all abnormal, otherwise and this is my exact point, of course he wouldn't work on them.

batman, wonka, and alice are not normal fantasy films at all. they are all weird fantasy films with weird people doing weird things in a weird world.

fantasy by the way is inherently weird. that's why it's called fantasy because it deals with weird or abnormal to reality things. I can't believe you don't see that tim burton makes nothing but weird movies.

this: Plus, if you want "Normal" there are plenty of other film makers who work in that way. You wouldn't ask your local butcher to bake you a bloody cake.
has no relevance to my point. it's not a correct analogy. this is true because I'm just asking for variety ok, once. gosh damn once make a normal movie. why your analogy doesn't make sense about my point is that a butcher has to serve you meat while a director doesn't have to give you weird movies.

reply

not true, it was more weird than big fish. it dealt with freaking apes on a planet. why the normal in parentheses?

reply

Stupid response from a stupid person.
