Of Burton's 16 major films he has directed how many did you not like?

It starts going downhill for me outside of my top 11. I didn't really like 5 out of his 16 movies. That's not bad and I even thought 2 of them (Charlie and Sweeney) were mediocre. Big Eyes sounds great with the low budget, cast, and the writers of Ed Wood. Hopefully Burton will continue to go back to his roots.

1.Ed Wood 10/10
2.Pee Wee's Big adventure 10/10
3.Beetlejuice 8/10
4.Batman 8/10
5.Corpse Bride 8/10
6.Edward Scissorhands 8/10
7.Batman Returns 7/10
8.Mars Attacks 7/10
9.Big Fish 7/10
10.Sleepy Hollow 6.5/10
11.Frankenweenie 6.5/10
12.Charlie and the chocolate Factory 5/10
13.Sweeney Todd 5/10
14.Planet of the Apes 4.5/10
15.Dark Shadows 4/10
16.Alice in Wonderland 4/10

The ones I don't like:

Batman
Batman Returns
Pee Wee's Big Adventure
Planet of the Apes
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Alice in Wonderland
Dark Shadows

So it looks like 5,4, and 7 so far.

Alice in wonderland.
Wasn't horrible but it's a bit boring, a bit rubbish really and could have been made by anybody. Other than that I quite enjoy the others.

I would say the other weaker ones on my list would be Pee Wee's Big adventure, Mars Attacks and Planet of the Apes. I like theses films but they're not my favourites.

I feel the exact same way about Alice In Wonderland. I also agree with what you're saying about Mars Attacks and Planet of the Apes but I think Pee Wee's Big Adventure is brilliant. It's aged really well too and I enjoy it even more now as an adult then I did when I was a little kid.

So 5, 4, 7, and 1.

reply

Planet of the Apes, Alice In Wonderland, Charlie and Chocolate Factory.

I even dug Dark Shadows. It's a lot more "old school Burton" than people would have you believe.

reply

Ugh, Charlie and Chocolate Factory shouldn't be put with the aforementioned movies as it was a truly great movie.
