When was the first time you saw him die on screen and it surpriced you?

For me it was in Scarlett (1994) where he played Lord Richard Fenton.
"Wait? What? He died?!"

Then came Equilibrium and Lord of the rings and his death was just a fact...

For me it was Equilibrium.. What a beautiful death it was.. .one of him best
