Being Swedish is SO much cooler and exotic to Americans. Growing up, I thought she was just a southern belle, how boring.

I have followed her career since 1962 met her at the Birdie premiere in Hollywood and years later visited with her backstage after her shows. the only time Ann-Margret ever "tried to be southern was in the Best Little Whorehouse tour. Miss Mona did have a southern accent. visited her a few times after those shows and she dropped the Southern accent of course.
