'Poster Boy'

I just saw Karen in the indie film "Poster Boy," in which she plays the wife of a conservative Southern senator and the mother of a soon-to-be-uncloseted gay man. It's not a great film, but Karen's character is a highlight. She looks great and does a good Southern drawl. Her character is constantly smoking. I hope this is isn't Karen's real-life habit, though I'm happy to say she's still smokin'!

Karen smoked for many years, but managed to quit about the time her son Nicholas was born, September 14, 1990. Although some of her roles call for her to smoke, as far as I know, she is still smoke-free in real life.

She smokes pot (surely not real pot) in Animal House and a cigarette in Starman. It doesn't bother me if she smokes...

The movie itself wasn't great... I fast forwarded through a lot that bored me, but I thought Karen's scenes were the best in the movie, for the most part. I really enjoyed her last scene when she's talking to her husband. I thought it was pretty powerful when she was like "Look at me when I talk to you. I'm your wife, not some asskisser on your staff." and he tells her to leave if she wants to, but that she won't survive, and so she turns around and says *beep* you, Senator."

I thought she was brilliant.
