What happened?

Since 2007 he's made some really bad choices in movies. Is he just locked in a bad contract and is shoveling through crap to be done with it? So many of the films that he's made havent even had wide release at the cinema. Does anyone have an insight? Just curious...

He's taking notes on how to be Nicolas Cage

It's quite surprising that everybody seems to be hating Nicholas Cage but everybody still loves Bruce. He has more horrible movies than Cage!!! So sad- I'm a die hard Die Hard fan :) (1-3, I'm pretending 4 and 5 were never made).

reply

No kidding. Nick at least seems like he enjoys being on set. Bruce just comes off like he'd rather be somewhere else.

Who says violence is not the answer?

It's my belief that Bruce Willis is more inclined to take smaller parts in modestly budgeted movies....so that he can get a good paycheck for a couple of days worth of work....and thus have more time to do whatever he wants. As an added bonus he wouldn't have to do any promotion for the film....something that everyone knows he hates doing. I'm guessing he could probably net himself between $500K and $1 million for a day or two of his time....since his name alone would secure a lot of funding from financiers. Kind of like how Gary Oldman received $1 million for two days worth of work on "Jesus" and Sean Connery received $3.5 million for nine days of work on "Highlander 2".

And I don't see anything wrong with that, I don't get how these little dumb kids on here think that if a guy decides to take it easy in his late career it makes his early career disappear. He worked his ass off to be in this position and bless him for it. If i were an actor i wouldn't want to work 3 months on a film 12 hours a day memorizing so much dialogue, 2-5 days and good cash is cool with me.

I think there just comes a point where you're not worth the trouble anymore. Even though appearing in a Woody Allen movie isn't what it used to be, it says a lot when you get fired by him. Woody is known to let the actors make their own choices and basically just yells action for them. So if Bruce is forgetting his lines and being difficult to the point of getting fired, then you have to imagine that's what is happening with other directors.

He'll always get work because he's Bruce Willis though.

Life isn't simple, nor is picking movies to play a role in either. Sometimes you win, sometimes you don't. He's not going to do action films, I respect that. I've always been a fan of his style of comedy. I'm glad he's just doing movies, as I'd miss out, and I still enjoy his movies. Eventually he'll strike a deal on a fantastic script and have a blockbuster for us. I'd like to see Sean Connery in another film, but, it doesn't appear it's going to happen.

I think he burned a lot of bridges.
