Any good biographies on Spielberg?
I'm a big fan, but haven't really read any books on him... does anyone have some that they would recommend?
Defeat awkwardness with maximum ridiculosity.

I'm writing a biographical book about his filmography, inspiration and techniques in his movies. Currently doing so, I would need a great title. Wish me luck! :) No, I'm not making this up nor am I trolling.
shareBy far the most informative, at least in terms of great research, is Joseph McBride's book Steven Spielberg: A Biography. Some of his opinions on Spielberg's films are questionable, though.
Steven Awalt (who used to run the SpielbergFilms wesbite) recently published a great book of his own about the making of Duel.
@Zombie-Kermit I'll second the recommendation of Joseph McBride's bio. It's the gold standard - he even interviewed Spielberg's relatives and neighbors to find out what he was like growing up. Every other bio pales in comparison.
shareI have a lot of books on him.
shareJohn Baxter's biography of him is very good.
shareI got this one books as a gift for my birthday when I was thirteen (?) and its pretty good. It's called Spielberg: A Retrospective. It's not a full on biography but it's got detailed accounts of the process and how Spielberg feels about each of his movies (from Duel to War Horse [it was published in 2012]) and I like going back and studying it every once in a while to get some mojo from him. I'd definitely recommend it!
