remember that scene in LA Confidential..
Where he goes to the motel to see that blonde dude from The Mentalist he's set up to meet the gay police chief to tell him he doesn't have to go through with the scam.. and finds him dead his throat slit and Spaceys oscar acting kicks when he sees the body and he sort of slumps down absolutely devastated knowing he's inadvertently led the guy to his death.. (up until then he's been all in control/cocky etc)
that's what he must be like now.
